Since 1973, the Rochester Folk Workshop has been host to the published and accomplished 5-string banjoist and guitarist Vincent Sadovsky. Prior to 2005, the Rochester Folk Workshop was a retail store in addition to a private lesson facility. Since then, this unique blue home-styled business is only used for private guitar and banjo lessons.
As owner of the Rochester Folk Workshop he has built his life around music and sharing it with others.
Teaching since 1970, he has become one of the most sought after instructors in Michigan for composition and technical ability.
In the 70's and 80's Vincent along with his wife Karen performed and sang as the duo "Calico". After that Vincent continued performing as a solo act.
Over the years he has entertained at a wide variety of venues including colleges, coffeehouses, festivals and concert halls. His expertise allowed him to become an "Artist In Residence" for the Michigan Council For The Arts and a traveling clinician for Guild guitars. His passion for acoustic music led him to co-found and establish the Paint Creek Folklore Society.
Vincent has worked as a studio musician as well as played on radio and television commercials, and documentary films.
Since 1998, he has been a voting member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.
