GREG CORBETT
ARTIST Biography
As a youngster Greg became well known at area fiddlers conventions for his banjo picking. He began to play with the Montgomery County band, The Dark Mountain Band, which lead him to play at The World’s Fair in Knoxville, Tennessee. He then formed Greg Corbett and the Backwoods Bluegrass Band with his Daddy. He later went on to play with other bands such as Red, White and Bluegrass and New Vintage. He then began with bluegrass legend Charlie Waller in 1992 as one of his Country Gentlemen and continued to tour with him until 2004. While touring with The Gentlemen he was awarded by the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music in America, Banjo Player of the Year for 1996. Greg then formed The Circuit Riders in 2005 with longtime friends and toured until he started his most important and proud role as the loving, supportive Daddy.
